Happy 150 year birthday Canada! Hope you are having fun out there and enjoying some warm weather finally.

Today we are going to address pinch flats in BMX bikes. Pinch flats are caused by hitting a pothole, or curb, or doing a trick, and getting  a flat because of not enough air pressure in the tube. Usually there are 2 tiny holes in the tube that look like a snake bite with a pinch flat.

Read the recommended PSI on the sidewall of the tire and put near the maximum amount of air from a pump to prevent flats.

How do you get home when you have a flat and no spare tube?

Step 1: Remove the tube inside the tire with tire levers or use your hands if you do not have levers.

Step2: Pull the sidewall of the tire onto the outside of both sides of the rim, so that your rim rides in the proper direction in the middle of the tread.

Another words, you are riding the wheel inside of the tire, with out a tube just to get home.  You can ruin your tire doing this, but tires are less expensive than wheels.
